Description
Cat Island is home to the the Hermitage, on Mt. Alvernia, the highest point above sea level in The Bahamas (206ft.). Father Jerome, a retired Catholic priest came to Cat Island to build a monastery where he could get away from the world. Built in 1939, he used local stone and local labor.
